•Responsible for the product performance and quality characteristics of the GE Jenbacher Gas engines overall and the parts/sub-systems within your own field of expertise
•Sampling, structuring evaluating technical requirements, create Requirement documents on sub-system and component level, track their abidance through the entire project time and feel responsible for them
•Basic concept design work on packages, sub-systems and components in conjunction with the other departments, preparation of DFMEA´s at the sub-system and component level, provide and support concept assessments and concept design reviews
•Developing components or sub-systems of Gas Engines from concept/packaging phase to serial release autonomously as well as under supervision and guidance of lead and senior engineers by using DFSS and DFR principles, act as component owner for parts of the Genset on component or sub-system level
•Creating 3D models in CATIA V5, build up sub-assemblies and assemblies, handle the complete data structure from the top level assembly down to the standard and raw parts
•Drive design attendant simulations (CFD, FEA, FSI, TMF, etc.), present results to the lead and senior engineers and execute product optimizations at the agreed way
•Provide cost estimations and generate cost out ideas for components and sub-systems together with other departments at executioner level
•Communicate frequently & within reasonable response times with the other relevant global departments inside and outside Technology to share all project information with GSCM/ Sourcing/ etc.
•Build up the BOM structure, fulfill all database work from single raw or standard part up to top assembly level, feel responsible for the content and completeness of the BOM
•Provide and drive change management processes, execute changes during NPI´s as well as for GSCM support
•Prepare presentation material for reviews, boards or technical/ marketing events, present individual results in reviews or panels, create design practices, take responsibility for the complete data storage in PLM/DRB
•Assign one field of manufacturing technology and one functional area of expertise to become an expert to support all members of development department with specialized knowledge
•Flexibility to attend other reasonable tasks as necessary
•Bachelors/Master's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in combustion engineering
•Previous experience of more than 3 years in design and development of combustion engines
•Substantial knowledge in engineering mechanics, materials, casting / forging / welding processes
•Fundamental knowledge in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and the implementation of 1D/3D simulation tools in the development process
•Excellent knowledge in CATIA V5 or similar tools, familiar with using database tools during the development and serializing process
•Working knowledge of quality systems (ISO), tools (DFMEA; DVP) and techniques (DFSS, DFR).
•Previous experience of knowledge regarding engine and component test and development techniques.
•You are a team player, comfortable in an international environment and have good oral and written communication skills in both German and English (at least one language fluent)
•Willingness to travel
