NETWORK ENGINEER (M/F)

Description

Essential Responsibilities

• Drive and contribute on a variety of infrastructure projects to deliver high quality results
• Responsible for incident troubleshooting, change implementation, vendor relationships, and problem analysis
• Lead operational infrastructure activities (voice/data/network/security)
• Execute efforts for disaster recovery planning, strategic growth and technology upgrades
• Effectively operate as a strong team player to solve problems and actively incorporate input from various sources
• Enforce and execute policies and procedures regarding the use of network resources
• Must be willing to travel 10%
• Fluency in German and English 

Desired Characteristics

• Ability to lead and support multiple projects simultaneously, proven project management experience / including project initiation, scoping, resourcing, scheduling, budgeting, risk management and communication
• Strong understanding of routing / switching / wireless technologies
• Strong understanding of how to configure network devices and IP address management
• Strong understanding of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, DNS, DHCP)
• Understanding of technologies such as firewalls, NAT, IPS, load balancing
• Understanding how compute / applications interact with the network
• Ability to use network tools to aid in troubleshooting / monitoring the network
• Ability to understand network utilization / analysis to manage network capacity
• Experience in 24/7 Manufacturing Environments
• Experience with windows server administration
• Experience with CCTV, PBX, Security and Paging systems
• Ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of staff located in multiple sites
• Self-motivated and passionate about learning new technologies, research and evaluate emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support activities
• Proactively engages with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and design solutions using critical thinking, analytical skills and best practices
• Open to change (positive or negative) in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Electrical Engineering or commensurate experience
• Solid work experience in a (similar) technical role
• CCNA or equivalent certification preferred
