The Paralegal Compliance & Corporate Governance (m/f) will be involved in a diverse range of legal activities and support the DP Legal Director. The Paralegal will support all activities to assure adherence to all aspects of internal company and external regulatory compliance. Insures appropriate mechanisms are in place to comply with relevant laws and regulations and support corporate governance. Job Reference #3180658

 Your responsibilities in Compliance:

  • Provide research and analysis for a variety of compliance and legal matters
  • Support enhancing the compliance culture
  • Help to develop and implement a Distributed Power’s ethics and compliance program (including creation of code of conduct)
  • Review current compliance processes and support implementation of new ones
  • Work with different departments on various compliance matters (e.g. to establish new process for business partners` background checks)
  • Prepare Compliance Review Board meeting
  • Help ensure compliance with all applicable rules
  • Work with Ombuds-Team on investigation matters
  • Assisting with compliance execution & monitoring
  • Developing and managing various compliance related databases & workflows
  • Preparing compliance trainings, materials and presentations in English & German
  • Creating legal summary and recommendations for compliance judgment calls
  • Work closely with the legal team to implement different legal projects

 Your responsibilities in Corporate Governance:

  •  Work together with internal & external stakeholders for maintaining statutory records, timely filing of required forms/returns with statutory authorities
  • Responsible for managing the day to day operational needs of Distributed Power related to legal entity creation, management, dissolution and simplification
  • Manage board and committee meeting logistics, attend and record minutes of all board and committee meetings
  • Maintain key corporate documents and record them in centralized document storage
  • Ensure proper corporate disclosure and compliance with jurisdictional corporation laws, and enable proper reporting and compliance
  • Manage subsidiary structures and governance
  • Monitor corporate governance developments and assist in tailoring governance practices to meet the needs of Distributed Power

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree or above from an accredited university or college or another relevant legal professional education (e.g. as paralegal, "Rechtspfleger/in" or else)- Proven experience in compliance and corporate governance with general expertise including European corporate and contracts law
  • Fluent in English and German, additional languages are of advantage
  • A valid work permit for Austria is a prerequisite for this position (Non-EU citizens: please attach the work permit to the application)

According to Austrian law, job postings need to include the minimum salary for a position. For this position, the minimum salary based on the collective agreement is EUR 2785.54 gross per month. We will be pleased to discuss the appropriate effective salary based on your qualifications and experience.
