Product Cost Manager – Jenbacher Type 6 Engines Platform (m/f/d)

The product cost manager is responsible for developing cost effectiveness and cost out strategies/programs for the Jenbacher Type 6 Platform across functions and aligned to overall financial and quality guidelines. This role is a key driver of the multi-functional integration and execution of cost strategies into the design and/or manufacturing objectives.

Your Responsibilities:

• Lead development & execution of mid- & long-term cost effectiveness and cost out strategies for the Type 6 Platform
• Set cost targets for new product introductions and design changes
• Develop cost-models including standardized reporting on various gas engines components and systems
• Drive and manage the multi-functional integration and execution of strategies into the design and/or manufacturing objectives in close collaboration with engineering, sourcing, manufacturing and services
• Monitor and track selected cost out projects
• Lead business discussions on make vs buy, parts standardization and track opportunities  
• Conduct value analysis and identify cost reduction opportunity on major cost drivers (eg specific systems and components)
• Act as global and regional cost support for sourcing teams

Your Profile:

• Technical and/or business degree (Bachelor, Master)
• Experience in a financial role (financial planning, controlling), preferably in the Gas Engine or Power Generation Industry and preferably work experience in a project/expert role in supply chain, engineering, product line and/or product costing is beneficial
• Experience in value stream analysis for industrial system components as well as design and cost modeling tools
• Thorough knowledge of INNIO Jenbacher Gas Engines products, network, businesses, initiatives and programs
• Knowledge of mechanical/electrical design, manufacturing, assembly processes, sourcing support, testing and quality methods, procedures, systems and requirements
• Strong business acumen related to relevant industry
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams without disciplinary power
• Strong continuous improvement and process optimization mindset
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluent in English (oral and written), German skills are a plus
• A valid work permit for Austria as a prerequisite for this position (Non-EU citizens: please attach the work permit to the application)
