• Manage and conduct PCO (Product Cost out) activities • Interface with all GE locations conducting engine program design engineering work • Establish Cost Out tools, process & methodologies (i.e. Should Cost, DtC) • Work with engineering, GSCM and product line on key components and engine systems to identify and recommend the appropriate cost out opportunities • Interface with GE supply chain managers, global commodity managers and buyers to learn the current supply chain and lead sourcing activity of engine components • Perform cost analysis of engine components across various GE engines • Contact suppliers, coordinate and lead meetings, and issue communications and action plans to suppliers • Participate in setting and tracking product cost targets and actual quoted costs • Select and approve appropriate suppliers using sound RFQ processes based on best fit for NPI requirements • Negotiate best terms to achieve project Key Performance Indicators (KPI) e.g. delivery, quality, cost, lead time and monitor supplier performance to agreed Tollgate timeline • Maintain Oracle system data integrity e.g. supplier details; costs; payment terms; supplier files etc. • Lead the commodity procurement to achieve variable cost productivity, cash flow, and controllership goals • Lead the supplier selection, qualification, development, and overall supplier management, including managing the entire contract life cycle from Request for Proposal to supplier exit • Develop technical and market expertise in commodity area • Closely monitor supplier performance to plan and work with the suppliers to manage any required recovery plans / actions • Develop process to look upstream for pending requirements and drive Engineering / Manufacturing / Sales in order to ensure sourcing given adequate cycle to procure material
• Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited university or college • Minimum of 10 years of supply chain or engineering experience • Minimum of 5 years of experience sourcing engine components including international supply base • Strong negotiation skills, contract development and business law knowledge • Desired Characteristics Knowledge of manufacturing processes used in castings, forgings, machining, and fabrications with experience buying engine components in these commodities • Process analysis, problem solving, and strategy development skills • Ability to work with and lead cross-functional teams • Strong interpersonal & Leadership skills • Knowledge of commodities, spend analysis and supplier data file organization • Hands-on manufacturing experience of engine components is preferred • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with a strong focus on data-driven decision making • Proven project management skills with ability to handle multiple tasks and deliver results on time and on budget • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is preferred (GE employees only) • GE program graduate is preferred (GE employees only) • Proven leadership skills preferably leading & managing cross-functional teams • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English/German)
According to Austrian law job postings need to include the minimum salary for a position. For this position the minimum salary based on the collective agreement is EURO 2.946,77 gross monthly. Please note that this is the very minimum salary and will most likely be higher. The effective salary is based on the candidate's Qualification and Experience and will be negotiated accordingly.
